As someone who enjoys writing, shares an ambition with his wife to write a book, and hopes to eventually go on the road to do public speaking engagements, I would have to say that all of the usual writing skills, from research and planning to spelling, grammer, and organization play a small part in helping me to articulate and express my faith. I've always enjoyed writing since I was a youngster in school, and all of the above mentioned skills come into play when writing on any subject matter. For my faith specifically, it is extremely important to me to be able to clearly and concisely explain my faith to others who may of never heard of the good news of Jesus Christ, and God's plan to bring himself back to us through his son. In so doing that, I need to be able to out all my writing skills to their full use, as the more skills I choose to utilize, then the better chances of me bringing out a good, clear message to my audience, and consequently helping to bring more lost souls to Christ. Additionally, being able to write clearly and correctly, I feel, can also help to improve my speaking skills, and help me to build upon what comes off of my lips and into nearby listening ears. Personally, I have noticed that the more improved upon my writing skills are, then the better off my speaking skills are, as well. It's a delicate balance, but by being aware of all the writing skills out there, learning how to use them, and then incorporating them into your writing style, I believe a person can make that much greater of an impact directly upon their audience.
